Velma Joy Pitts

Velma Joy Pitts, 77, died March 21, 2012, at Circle of Life in Springdale. Married in 1953, she was the loving wife for 59 years to Jack Pitts. She was born in Haskell, Okla., on Nov. 9, 1934, to the late Jess and Quila Crum Crabtree. She loved to feed baby parrots, hosting dinners for her church friends and spending time with her family. Joy is survived by her husband of Rogers; son, Mark Pitts of Arizona; and daughter, Kathy Abel of Oklahoma; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
