James Edgar Seever

James Edgar Seever, 85, of Bella Vista, Ark., died Sunday, March 25, 2012, at his residence. He was born on Aug. 18, 1926, in Linkville, Mo., the son of Harry Bernard Seever and Maggie Chestnut Nash Seever. He served in the U.S. Army in the European Theater of WWII. James married Mary Helen Hoffman on Sept. 18, 1948. He was employed as meat procurement officer for Affiliated Foods of Kansas. He was past master of Charity Lodge in St. Joseph, Mo., and 32nd degree Mason, Moila Shrine in St. Joseph. They moved to Bella Vista, Ark., in 1992 from St. Joseph, Mo. James was an avid golfer, belonging to Legends and Sodbusters golf groups. He also loved to play cards. He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, David; and two sisters, Melva Jean and Ruby. He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Mary Helen Seever of Bella Vista; son, James Seever and his wife, Lynn, of Mobile, Ala.; grandchildren, Joseph and his wife, Bethany, Micheal and his wife, Brandy, and James; seven great-grandchildren; brother, Harry Seever and his wife, Rosemary, of Missouri; and numerous nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, March 29, 2012, at the Bella Vista Funeral Home Chapel, 2258 Forest Hills Blvd., Bella Vista, Ark. Memorials are suggested to the Shrine Children's Hospital or the American Heart Association. Arrangements are by the Bella Vista Funeral Home & Crematory, 2258 Forest Hills Blvd., Bella Vista, Arka.
