William Thomas 'Tom' Stark

William Thomas "Tom" Stark was born the son of J.D. Stark and Sharon Wilkinson Stark on June 1, 1961, at Kansas City, M0., and departed this life March 19, 2012 in Springfield, Mo., at the age of 50 years. He was united in marriage on June 26, 1994, at Elko, Nev., to Marilyn Nelson. He is survived by his wife, Marilyn Stark, of the home in Republic, Mo.; three daughters, Sydney Rose Stark and Samantha (Sammy) Mae Stark of the home and Ashley Blair Stark of Castle Rock, Colo.; his mother, Sharon Stark of Seligman, Mo.; one sister, Candis Stark Markee of San Jacinto, Calif.; one brother, Milo Tuttle and wife, Tina, of Lenoir City, Tenn.; seven nieces, Nargiss Pourmand, Tabitha, Trisha and Tracy Markee, Terra and Kayla Tuttle and Cindy Nelson; seven nephews, Wesley Markee, Alex and Jason Tuttle, Brad and Tyler Nelson, Jesse D. Stark and Bijan J.R. Pourmand; other relatives and many friends. He was preceded in death by his father, J.D. Stark; one son, Courtland Jacob Tittle; and one brother, Timothy "Tim" Stark. He was a member of the Shepherd's Chapel in Gravette, Ark., and held the highest respect and love for Pastor Murray. Tom was a brick mason by trade and an avid outdoorsman. He enjoyed floating the river or just sitting on the creek bank. His favorite pastime was watching the Kansas City Chiefs football games with his brother Ben, nephew Jesse and good friends. He was a good cook and known for his great pot of chili or he would grill you a "mean steak." Tom was a wonderful family man. He always looked up to his big brother, Milo; loved and cherished his wife and family, especially his daughters, fondly referred to as his "rascals." He loved life and lived it to the fullest. He will truly be missed by all who knew and loved him. Memorial services will be Saturday, March 24, 2012, at 1 p.m. in the Carter Funeral Home Chapel at Thayer, with the Rev. Gerald Bounds officiating. The family will receive friends Saturday from 11 a.m. until time of the service at the funeral home. Services are under the direction of Carter Funeral Home Inc. in Thayer, Mo. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in his memory may be made to the family and left at the Carter Funeral Home.
