Albert B. Matteson, 82, of Gentry, formerly of Springdale, died Thursday, March 22, 2012, at his home. He was born July 7, 1929, in Bellview, Ark., to Ben and Lucy Fletcher Matteson. Albert worked at McClinton Brothers for 16 years. He was a driller and he drove a uke. He grew up on Hickory Creek. He loved to fish and hunt. He also enjoyed horses, riding and attending horse shows. He was a very kind and loving and he had a sweet spirit. He loved to laugh and make others laugh. He was very gentle. He loved his family with every ounce of his heart. He was preceded in death by two sons, John Aaron Matteson, Albert Kirk Matteson; and one sister, Betty Sims. Survivors include his wife, Bonnie Matteson, of the home; and two sisters, Grace Bray of Springdale, and Marie Miller of Joplin and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be Monday, March 26, 2012 at 10 a.m. at Sisco Funeral Chapel of Springdale, with Chaplain Chuck Bengston officiating. Burial will be in the Zion Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday from 2 to 4 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Circle of Life Hospice, 901 Jones Road, Springdale, AR 72762.
