Emogene Castleman

Emogene Castleman, 84, longtime Springdale resident, died March 20, 2012, at her daughter's home in Michigan City, Miss. She was born April 5, 1927, in Portales, N.M., to D.W. and Minnie Hazel Harrison Poindexter. Mrs. Castleman was devoted to the care of her family. She served for many years as a board member of the EOA, and was very active with the Salvation Army Church and Thrift Store. She received a plaque from Governor Huckabee honoring her for 40 years of volunteer service. She was preceded in death by her husband and three children. She is survived by five sons, two daughters, four brothers, three sisters, 14 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren. A graveside service will be 11 a.m. Saturday, March 24, at Fairview Memorial Gardens in Fayetteville.
