Donnie Sue Stubbs

Donnie Sue Wells Stubbs, age 75, of Fayetteville, Ark., died at home on Saturday, March 10, 2012. She was born as Donnie Sue Wells to Condy and Minnie Wells on Dec. 29, 1936, at Shady Point, Okla. She married the love-of-her-life, Wilton Odell Stubbs, on Dec. 23, 1955. Wilton proceeded her in death. Donnie was best-known for her wonderful stories of the many countries she lived in and traveled to with her husband, Wilton, who was a geophysicist with Phillips Petroleum. She had a big heart and was always involved in volunteering and helping others, even to the end. Donnie was survived by her four children: Diane Urquhart of Brisbane Australia, Wilma Stubbs of Farmington Ark., and her two Naval officer sons, Cmdr. Milton Stubbs of Millington, Tenn., and Capt. John Stubbs of Falls Church, Va.; as well as 12 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. She also has one surviving sister, Anne Dean of Muskogee, Okla., and many nieces and nephews who loved her. A time of remembering for friends and family was held at Wedington Place Senior Apartments at 2 p.m. on Thursday, March 15. She will be missed. Cremation arrangements were by Beard's Chapel.
