Daisy A. Ogden

Jan. 6, 1939 - March 9, 2012 Daisy A. Ogden, 73, of Huntsville, Ark., died March 9, 2012, at the Willard Walker Hospice Home in Fayetteville, Ark. She was born Jan. 6, 1939, at Dove Creek, Colo., the daughter of Hallie Henry Harry and Doris Louise Bursell Pettz. She was preceded in death by one sister, Gloria Linnen. She became a resident of Huntsville, Madison County, Ark., when a young girl and graduated from Huntsville High School. As she negotiated life, her greatest treasure was found in her surviving husband, her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She became a prominent artist, a painter of oils, acrylics and china painting skills as well as a sculptor of clay artwork. She successfully designed a form of clay pot artwork that depicted the existence of Southwestern Native American culture which was patented and commercially distributed. She was an instructor at Terra Studios near Durham, Ark. She was a member of the prestigious China Painter's Guild and accomplished winning an international award for her works. Her artwork was sold both locally and internationally and she left her artistic mark with thousands of artistic creations. Daisy leaves behind her family and a host of friends who played very important roles in her life. She was a remarkable Christian example and she was a committed student of God's Word and a member of Shepherd's Chapel in Gravette, Ark. Survivors include: her husband, Dester H. Ogden of the home; one son and daughter-in-law, Tim and Karen Hill of Springdale, Ark.; three daughters and one son-in-law, Leslie Andrews of Sacramento, Calif., Krickette Drummond of Hasty, Ark., and Kristy and James Thompson of Huntsville, Ark.; one brother, Dan Pettz of Huntsville, Ark.; one sister, Marilyn Rodgers of Huntsville, Ark.; four grandsons, Lance Hill of Fayetteville, Ark., Ben Hill and Blaine Hill, both of Springdale, Ark., and Shane Berry of Florida; six granddaugthers, Candice Hill, Mandolin Hill and Shirley Todd, all of Springdale, Ark., Michele Autry of Atlanta, Ga., Melissa McAlister of Palm Springs, Calif., and Cheyenne Drummond of Hasty, Ark.; two great-grandsons, Austin Autry of Atlanta, Ga., and Travis Hill of Fayetteville, Ark.; and one great-granddaughter, Lilli Hill of Springdale, Ark. A Celebration of Life to commemorate her life will be held on Saturday, March 17, 2012, between 9 a.m. and noon at Withrow Springs State Park at the Keith Ham Pavilion which is located on the west side of Highway 23 north of the main park entrance. Wearing black is not required, so please dress casually. Limited seats are available so bring a lawn chair.
