Eugene "Gene" J. (Kasper) Gallea, 75, of Bella Vista, Ark., died March 10, 2012, at Concordia Health Care, Bella Vista, Ark. He was born on March 5, 1937, in Faribault, Minn. to Jerome and Dorothy Joachim Kasper. He graduated from Owatonna High School in 1955. He married Rosemary Keller in 1958. He worked for Gallea Transfer and Storage which he later purchased in 1973 and was an agent for Wheaton Van Lines for 47 years. He enjoyed moving people locally and across the nation. He was a life member of Knights of Columbus and Owatonna Elks. He was active in St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Owatonna, Minn. and also a member of St. Bernard Church in Bella Vista. Gene enjoyed being with his family, grandchildren, friends, playing cards, telling jokes, golfing, dancing and traveling. He was an avid Minnesota Twins fan and was a volunteer driver for SEMCAT. He was preceded in death by his mother, Dorothy Gallea, father, Jerome Kasper and stepfather, Gale Gallea. He is survived by his wife, Rosemary of 53 years; son, Mark (Marcella) Gallea of Waseca, Minn., daughters, Theresa Gallea (special friend Craig Anderson of Ellendale, Minn.), Barbara Gallea of Edina, Minn., (special friend Bruce Prestegard of Claremont, Minn.), Karen (Donald) Hofstad of Manorville, Minn.; brother, Duane (Janette) Gallea, sisters, Virginia Grass, Joyce Kelm, Judy (Tom) Beriou, all of Minnesota, and stepsister Helen Vardamen of Indiana., three grandchildren, Anthony, Alexander, Annika Hofstad and step-grandchildren, Ashley (fiancée Justin Zak), Aaron and Alison Felix all of Minnesota and nieces and nephews. Visitation will be at 10 a.m. with Rosary at 10:30 a.m. and Mass of the Resurrection at 11 a.m., Wednesday, March14, 2012, at St. Bernard Catholic Church, One St. Bernard Lane, Bella Vista, Ark.. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Circle of Life Hospice of Bentonville; American Heart Association; St. Bernard's Catholic Church.
