Gregory Scott Simon, 53, of Springdale, Ark., died Thursday, March 8, 2012, at his home in Springdale. He was born May 28, 1958, in Oklahoma City, Okla., to Wanda Samatha Price Simon and Charles Lee Simon. Scott was an elder in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and leaves behind hundreds of family members who will mourn his loss, but find joy in the eternal nature of family. He proudly served in the Navy Honor Guard. He was preceded in death by one brother, Charles Lee Simon in 1992. Scott is survived by his mother, Wanda Samatha Lively of Lowell, Ark.; father, Charles Lee Simon of Lincoln, Ark.; one sister, Tera Leiter of Oklahoma City, Okla.; and three nephews, Corey Seals, Christopher Simon and Nicholas Simon. A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, March 14, 2012, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on Dixieland Road in Rogers with Bishop Eric Brown officiating. Burial will be at 2 p.m. in the National Cemetery in Fayetteville, Ark., with full military honors. Arrangements have been entrusted to Stockdale-Moody Funeral Services of Rogers.
