Carolyn Ann Thoele

Carolyn Ann Thoele, 67, of Springdale, passed away Thursday, March 1, 2012, at the Northwest Medical Center. Carolyn was born Feb. 13, 1945, in Wichita, Kan., a daughter of Ben Moore and Eva Myers Moore. She served in the United States Navy from 1964 to 1966. Carolyn married George L. Thoele on April 2, 1976, in Kansas City, Kan. She worked for the K.U. Medical Center in the Purchasing Dept. and after moving to Arkansas she worked for Tyson at the 412 Building. She loved arts and crafts, painting ceramics, attending the Springdale Senior Center and was an active member of the Grace Fellowship Church. She is survived by her husband, George L. Thoele of Springdale; one son, David L. Thoele of Springdale; one stepson, Michael T. Rose of Kansas City, Kan.; one daughter, Anita S. Curry of Springdale; two stepdaughters, Kathryn L. Bly and Laura E. Bly both of Kansas City, Kan.; two brothers, B.L. Moore of Pea Ridge, Ark. and Lonnie Moore of Wichita, Kan.; four sisters, Wilma Wehmeyer of Bella Vista, Ark., Virginia Kirkland of Buford, Ga., Vera Cooper of Wichita, Kan., and Shirley Cantrell of Derby, Kan.; 11 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two daughters, Lesa Ann Tibbetts and Sheila Rae Thoele and one sister, Bonnie Davis. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, March 7, 2012, at 11 a.m. at the Backstrom-Pyeatte Funeral Chapel. Pastor Ron Felling will officiate the service with burial being conducted at the Fayetteville National Cemetery under the direction of The Backstrom-Pyeatte Funeral Home.
