Van Robert "Jack" Cox

Van Robert "Jack" Cox, 87, a resident of Oklahoma City, Okla., passed away Feb. 24, 2012, in Oklahoma City, Okla. He was born May 6, 1924, at Prairie Grove, Ark., the son of Robert "Bob" and Myrtle Bell VanWinkle Cox. Jack was a member of the Christian Church. Graduating from Prairie Grove High School he then joined the army in 1942 and served in World War II. On Aug. 19, 1947, he married Doris Jean Langham. Jack then graduated from the University of Arkansas with a B.S. in marketing and M.S. in Business Administration. He worked for Gulf Oil for 34 years retiring as International Comptroller. He was preceded in death by his wife, Doris Jean Langham Cox; two brothers, George Cox and Troy Wayne Cox; one sister, Rita Glover. Survivors include two sons, Robert Brant Cox and Van Bruce Cox, both of Oklahoma City, Okla.; one daughter, Rebecca Schwarz of Oklahoma City, Okla.; four grandchildren, Taylor Schwarz, Lauren Schwarz, Brett Cox and Cassandra Cox. Funeral service will be held March 3, 2012, 10:30 a.m. at the Luginbuel Chapel in Prairie Grove, Ark., with burial in the Prairie Grove Cemetery Prairie Grove, Ark.
