Jewel Ivy Tannahill

Jewel Ivy Tannahill, 87, of Lowell, Ark., went to be with Jesus on Feb. 29, 2012, at Springdale Health and Rehabilitation in Springdale. She was born Dec. 6, 1924, in Hicks, Ark., to her parents, Roy Smith and Lecia Frink. She married her husband, John Tannahill, on Oct. 13, 1945, and was a proud mother of two children. Jewel prided herself in hard work and never backed away from a challenge. She spent her days caring for her family and her many pets. She never turned away anyone and had a welcoming heart. She enjoyed working outside on her little family farm in Lowell and enjoyed attending church at Silent Grove Baptist Church. Her tenacious, passionate and fun-loving spirit will be missed. Jewel will be remembered by her husband, John Tannahill; her daughter, Connie Eldredge; her brother, Bruce Frink; and six grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her beloved son, Ivan Tannahill; and her brother, Claud Harris. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Friday, March 2, 2012, at Sisco Funeral Chapel in Springdale with Pastor Steve Johnson officiating. Interment will immediately follow at Silent Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday, March 1, 2012, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Her family will be in attendance to receive condolences.
