Lawrence 'Larry' Menting

Lawrence "Larry" Menting, 66, of Springdale died Dec. 16, 2012, at his home. He was born Feb. 9, 1946, in Waukesha, Wis., to Orville Joseph and Rose Barbara Weild Menting. Larry worked for the Springdale School system in maintenance at Central Junior High School. Larry enjoyed building and making things. He loved working in his carpentry shop. He loved nature, and enjoyed hiking and outdoor activities. Larry earned many medals as a swimmer in his early years. He was preceded in death by one sister, Betty Vahl. He is survived by his special friend, Karen Morrison of Springdale; and two brothers, Gerald Menting and Timothy Menting, both of Wisconsin. A gathering of Larry's friends will take place at Central Junior High School cafeteria 2-4 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 22, 2012.
