Gov. Sarah Huckabee Sanders and other Arkansas officials provided details Monday on how the state is preparing for the April 8 total solar eclipse, which could bring between 300,000 and 1 million visitors to the state.

That latest estimate was given by Sanders in a press conference at the Arkansas Department of Transportation's headquarters in Little Rock.

Sanders, backed by a row of Arkansas State Troopers and members of her administration, was asked about estimates that the state could see anywhere between 1 million or 3 million visitors, which would double the state's baseline population.

"I'm glad I'm not reading the same material you are," Sanders said. "I don't know that we expect the 3 million number. There's estimates anywhere from 300,000 up to a million.
