SPRINGDALE -- A Springdale High School student was arrested Monday for having a firearm in his vehicle on school grounds, according to a news release from the Police Department.
The school resource officer assigned to the school was told by school administration there might be a firearm in a student vehicle, according to the release.
An administrator and the officer went to the vehicle, found a firearm inside and seized the weapon. The juvenile involved was arrested without incident.
There was no known threat to other students on the campus of the school, according to announcements by both the department and the School District.
The incident is under investigation and "no other information will be released at this time," the Police Department news release says.
