MANSFIELD -- A hazmat team was called to a Harps grocery story after a driver was found dead in a truck in the store's parking lot.
The Fort Smith hazmat team was called after police found the driver, according to Travis Cooper, Sebastian County emergency management officer.
The Blair Logistics trucking company in Birmingham, Ala., contacted police to request a welfare check on the driver. Cooper said the driver had likely been dead for days.
Blair officials told emergency crews the driver had recently been out of the country and may have had an illness.
In response, the Police and Fire departments asked for help from the hazmat team as a precaution.
The name of the driver hasn't been released, nor has any information about his destination.
