Arkansas 9, LSU 3 -- FINAL

LSU pulled a pair of runs back through a no-doubter two-run homer off the bat of Crews with one out.

Smith followed the home run by striking out White. The LSU sophomore went 0-5 with 3 Ks today.

Arkansas 9, LSU 1 -- Middle 10th Inning

Dave Van Horn is teaching a managerial masterclass this afternoon. With two runners on, he elected to pinch-hit Reese Robinett for Bolton and the freshman launched a three-run homer to center.

It was just Robinett's second home run of the season. Josenberger and Stovall followed the long ball with back-to-back singles.

The Razorbacks have blown this game open in extra innings. Diggs blasted a grand slam with two outs.

Diggs is second on the team with 7 HRs and 28 RBI this season.

Smith struck out the side. He retired all three Tigers' on swinging strikeouts.

Stovall led off with a single but Arkansas failed to advance him.

Wegner and Slavens flew out. Bohrofen struck out looking to end the inning.

The Tigers tied the game on a solo home run from Brady Neal.

Crews beat out a grounder to shortstop for an infield hit to move the winning run to scoring position with one out.

Smith issued a walk to load the bases with two outs. He escaped the jam after Morgan popped out in foul territory.

Arkansas 1, LSU 0 -- Middle 8th Inning

LSU turned to the bullpen to start the eighth inning. The Razorbacks went down in order once again.

Skenes allowed 1 run on 2 hits and 3 walks. He struck out 12 batters and his ERA increased to 0.72 after the outing.

Arkansas 1, LSU 0 -- End 7th Innning

Smith drilled the leadoff man with the first pitch of the inning and allowed a two-out single to put the tying run in scoring position.

Parker Rowland threw out the runner from his knees on a backpack to first base to end the inning and strand the runners.

Bohrofen singled into center to begin the frame, which brought out LSU pitching coach Wes Johnson for a mound visit.

Diggs flew out. Arkansas ran itself out of the inning on a strikeout-throwout double play.

Bohrofen was thrown out at second as Coll struck out swinging.

LSU put the leadoff man on base on a single. Hollan struck out the next batter and now Dave Van Horn is going to his bullpen.

Arkansas' starter gave the Hogs all they could have asked for against the nation's top-ranked squad.

LHP Hagen Smith will take over on the mound for Arkansas. The decision to turn to Smith could not have worked out better for the Razorbacks as he struck out both batters to end the inning.

Skenes lost his command and loaded the bases on three walks in the inning. He entered today with just four walks allowed this season.

Brady Slavens struck out looking at a 1-2 pitch to strand the bases loaded.

We've officially entered pitchers' duel territory.

Hollan sat down the Tigers in order in the fifth. He's allowed just two hits and one walk today.

His swing-and-miss stuff has been excellent. The Arkansas starter has struck out six Tigers.

Diggs flew out in between a pair of strikeouts of Bohrofen and Coll.

Skenes has allowed 1 hit while recording 9 strikeouts on 61 pitches.

Tre Morgan crushed a two-out triple off the wall in dead center. He got thrown out at home attempting to advance.

The Razorbacks get on the board first in Baton Rouge. Tavian Josenberger lined an 0-2 fastball into right field for a leadoff double.

The leadoff man advanced to third on a wild pitch and then scored on a sac fly from Peyton Stovall. It was just the third run charged to Skenes this year.

Hollan issued a leadoff walk but retired the next three batters to strand the runner. He added a pair of strikeouts in the frame.

His pitch count is at 47.

Skenes has sat down all nine Razorbacks in a row his first time through the lineup.

Coll barreled the first pitch of the inning directly at LSU third baseman Tommy White for a lineout.

The Tigers' starter racked up two more punchouts for good measure. He's up to five strikeouts through three innings.

Hollan is doing his best to match Skene's domination. The Razorback lefty recorded a quick 1-2-3 inning of his own on just nine pitches.

Six up, six down for the Razorbacks to start the afternoon.

Skenes has looked every bit as good as advertised. Jace Bohrofen and Kendall Diggs both struck out.

Dylan Crews reached base after Harold Coll bobbled a tough play at third with one out. Hollan responded by inducing a fielder's choice and a pop out to end the inning.

The Tigers' ace needed just nine pitches to retire the Razorbacks in order. He went ahead 0-2 on all three hitters and his fastball topped out at 102 mph.

Pregame

The Razorbacks have strung together 14 consecutive victories, all of which came at Baum-Walker Stadium. Arkansas is aiming for its fourth straight series win against the Tigers.

Today's contest was initially scheduled for 7 p.m. but was moved to noon due to inclement weather. 

The Arkansas lineup will be tested against Paul Skenes, arguably the top collegiate hurler in the country. He has gone at least six innings in all five of his starts, allowing just two runs on the season while striking out 59 batters in 30.1 innings.
