Arkansas 9 Grambling 7 -- FINAL

Tygart returns to the mound for a save. Hudson Polk replaces Rowland behind the plate.

Grambling reached base with a leadoff single and the runner advance to second on a passed ball with one out.

Tygart strands a runner at third and strikes out the final batter to end the game.

Arkansas 9 Grambling 7 -- End 8th Inning

Arkansas is up to 5 consecutive innings with the leadoff man on base. 

Rowland walked and Bolton was hit by the pitch. Peyton Holt is in to pinch-run for Rowland.

Both runners moved into scoring position with nobody out after a wild pitch. Arkansas takes the lead on a sac fly from Josenberger to deep center field.

Another sac fly from Stovall drives in Holt from third.

Arkansas 7 Grambling 7 -- Middle 8th Inning

RHP Brady Tygart takes over on the mound. Caleb Cali is in as a defensive replacement at third base.

The sophomore right-hander struck out the first two hitters and induced an infield pop-out to blank the Tigers.

Arkansas 7 Grambling 7 -- End 7th Inning

The Razorbacks have put the leadoff man on base in four consecutive innings after a walk by Wegner.

Diggs walked with one out and both runners advanced into scoring position on a balk.

Tie ballgame. Arkansas knots the game on a sac fly from Bohrofen.

Ben McLaughlin pinch-hit for Jones and grounded out to end the inning.

Grambling 7 Arkansas 6 -- Middle 7th Inning

Frank continues his stellar work out of the bullpen. He's yet to surrender a hit while striking out three through 2.2 innings of relief.

The Razorbacks have held Grambling off the scoreboard in back-to-back innings for the first time tonight.

Tavian Josenberger is having an incredible day at the plate. His double brings home Rowland and the lead is down to one.

Josenberger has reached base all four times.

Grambling 7 Arkansas 5 -- Middle 6th Inning

Frank records the first 1-2-3 inning of the evening. He recorded a couple of groundouts and a strikeout.

He is the only Arkansas pitcher to not allow a run and he's thrown 11 of 13 pitches for strikes.

Both teams have scored in each of the last three innings. 

Josenberger walked and scored after consecutive singles from Stovall and Wegner. He's reached base in all 3 of his plate appearances.

Slavens roped a double into right field and Arkansas is working with runners in scoring position with nobody out. The Hogs can't come any closer as Diggs strikes out and Jones hit into a double play.

Grambling 7 Arkansas 3 -- Middle 5th Inning

The Arkansas pitching staff has yet to record a clean inning. McEntire allowed three more base hits and a walk before being pulled with the bases load.

RHP Koty Frank is being called upon to escape the jam. Frank induced an inning-ending double play to limit the damage.

Seven different Grambling batters have recorded a hit, including four who are having multi-hit games.

Grambling 6 Arkansas 3 -- End 4th Inning

Arkansas plated a pair of runners to cut the lead to three.

Diggs beat out an infield single to start the frame and scored after a double from Bohrofen.

Bohrofen came around to score on a groundout by Rowland.

Grambling 6 Arkansas 1 -- Middle 4th Inning

Grambling added three runs in the inning, all with two outs.

Another leadoff walk came back to bite the Hogs. Morris walked the leadoff man on four pitches. He got the next two outs but could not put the visitors away.

Grambling drives in two with a pair of two-out singles. RHP Will McEntire is being summoned from the bullpen in order to get the final out.

Grambling 3 Arkansas 1 -- End 3rd Inning 

The Razorbacks are on the board. 

Josenberger reached base for the second time in as many at-bats. He went first to third on a single by Stovall and tagged up on a sac fly to center from Wegner.

Wegner has a team-leading 9 RBI. Bolton and Diggs are tied for 2nd with 3 RBI each.

Grambling 3 Arkansas 0 -- Middle 3rd Inning

Morris has surrendered three singles in the inning as Grambling added another run and has runners on the corners with one out.

Dave Van Horn goes to the bullpen early in this midweek matchup. LHP Zack Morris takes over on the mound. 

Grambling 2 Arkansas 0 -- End 2nd Inning

Arkansas is scoreless through two innings. Jones worked a two-out walk and stole second. 

The wind may have erased a game-tying home run off the bat of Parker Rowland. He flew out to the warning track in center field.

Grambling 2 Arkansas 0 -- Middle 2nd Inning

Bybee settled in nicely in the second frame, striking out the first two batters. 

He allowed a single up the middle but retired the next batter to keep the visitors scoreless. He's thrown 46 pitches through 2 innings.

Grambling 2 Arkansas 0 -- End 1st Inning

The first two Hogs reached base as Josenberger swatted a leadoff single up the middle and Stovall was hit by a pitch. However, the rally ended as quickly as it started.

Wegner struck out swinging and Slavens hit into a double play to end the threat. The Grambling left fielder made a tough play coming into shallow left field and then throwing to second base to double off Stovall who left early.

Grambling 2 Arkansas 0 -- Middle 1st Inning

Bybee gave up a leadoff walk and then surrendered a two-run homer to Trevor Hatton with one out. 

He walked a second batter in the inning before battling back to get an inning-ending groundout to shortstop. Three of the six hitters he faced worked a full count. 

Pregame:

It's a windy afternoon at Baum-Walker Stadium for Arkansas' home opener against Grambling with the temperature in the mid-60s and a 14-mph breeze blowing in from right field.

Arkansas (2-1) had mixed results in the 2023 College Baseball Showdown last weekend, recording wins against TCU and Oklahoma State as well as an 18-6 loss to TCU.

This is the Razorbacks' first midweek home opener since 2003. 

Dating back to last season, Arkansas has played 19 consecutive games away from home. Today's matchup is the first of 18 consecutive games at Baum-Walker Stadium.

Freshman RHP Ben Bybee is slated to make his first collegiate start. He struck out one of two batters he faced against TCU.
