Happy birthday (Feb. 2): There have been times you've felt called in a certain direction. This year you're doing all the calling, claiming your life with more conviction and passion and attracting every resource needed to fulfill your purpose.

ARIES (March 21-April 19): There are bossy people who will tell anyone what to do regardless of having adequate knowledge, expertise or an invitation to give advice. Some of them are in your family. If you need permission to avoid them today, this is it.

TAURUS (April 20-May 20): It is unlikely you will learn anything that fixes your situation, although you'll likely learn something that catalyzes action. If you keep that action up, you'll reap long-term rewards.

GEMINI (May 21-June 21): You don't expect everything to be easy, or even most things, but shouldn't something be easy sometime? Yes. Keep in mind that, like power or a break, "easy" isn't given — it's taken.

CANCER (June 22-July 22): Life is about the company. The right companion makes a boring errand more exciting than the movies. Terrible companionship makes a theme park worse than the DMV. Always be adding to the "good company" pool.

LEO (July 23-Aug. 22): You'll surprise people today. Instead of giving them the moods they expect, you'll change it up — throw in some strange dialogue, act uncharacteristically and enjoy seeing another side of people as they react to your fun.

VIRGO (Aug. 23-Sept. 22): So, you haven't gotten what you wanted, and you've been chasing it for a long time now. That doesn't mean you should quit. There's a problem you need to solve, that's all. Talk to a mentor or get one.

LIBRA (Sept. 23-Oct. 23): "It takes courage to grow up and become who you really are," said poet E.E. Cummings. This is true at every age. It will be as though the day's challenges are designed to help you become your best self.

SCORPIO (Oct. 24-Nov. 21): Healthy levels of stress will benefit you, making you feel sharper and more alive. You'll know an unhealthy stress level by the way it feels — confusing and draining. Do what you need to do to keep it in a good range.

SAGITTARIUS (Nov. 22-Dec. 21): The problem is not a problem until you say it is. The obstacle is not a block until someone decides to make a path where it is. What would you do if the only thing you could change was your own mind?

CAPRICORN (Dec. 22-Jan. 19): You're one place now and you want to be in another place. In the middle there has to be a transformation of sorts. No transformation is without trials and tribulations, obstacles, conflict and work. You're ready for it.

AQUARIUS (Jan. 20-Feb. 18): Living with your feelings can be like living with cats. They resist control and resent management, so the best you can do is welcome them, accept them for who they are and see what happens.

PISCES (Feb. 19-March 20): Legend has it that if you lay down in a dragon's lair, you'll wake up a dragon. There are perks to being a dragon, like flight and a talent for roasting, but you're still better off being you. Be careful who you hang out with today.

DOMESTIC MOON FOR MARMOTS: The weather has been unpredictable for the gathering at Gobbler’s Knob in Pennsylvania, but if the groundhog is astrologically persuaded, a domesticated moon in cozy Cancer whispers “stay home Punxsutawney Phil, Seer of Seers, Sage of Sages, Prognosticator of Prognosticators and Weather Prophet Extraordinary.”

CELEBRITY PROFILES: From 1985’s “Pretty in Pink” to 196 episodes of “The Blacklist”, James Spader never fails to intrigue audiences with the off-beat intensity of his characters. Aquarians are driven to explore the eccentric side of human nature, and Spader is pilgrim on the quest, with the acting awards to show for it. Season 10 of “The Blacklist” will premiere most auspiciously in the month of Spader’s solar return.
