LIVE MUSIC IN ARKANSAS: Rocktown Sparks concert to benefit storm victims

Members of The Rocktown Sparks were on Shackleford Road unloading their music equipment for a Friday night concert when the tornado hit. The musicians ran inside the event center and held tight to a steel door frame as the building was destroyed. They escaped serious injury but their equipment was badly damaged and they lost their cars, according to a news release from the band. With borrowed equipment, the Sparks will still play their First Thursday concert in Hillcrest at 6 p.m. today and will donate all tips and proceeds to tornado relief efforts. The bands members are (from left) Brooks Brown, David Edwards, Jonathan Fili, Steve Mangan, Brian Cato, Eric Britt and Jackson Rogers. (Special to the Democrat-Gazette)
