FAYETTEVILLE -- A newly completed bridge will make access to city trails and the Razorback Greenway easier for hundreds of residents on the west side of town, according to a city news release.

Construction of a 20-foot-wide bridge over Hamestring Creek is now complete, adding 700 feet to the city trail system.

The project, located west of Interstate 49, south of Mount Comfort Road and north of Wedington Drive, was supported by the 2019 Trail Improvements bond approved by Fayetteville residents, according to the release.

Requests to city staff to extend neighborhood access to nearby trails were a catalyst in the project.

The Hamestring Creek Trail, built in 2007, traces over half a mile of the creek to the Pine Valley subdivision.
