Church notes: Holiday Bazaar today at First United Methodist Church in Bella Vista

Bella Vista Community Church, 75 E. Lancashire Blvd., offers Solos, a group for for widows and single women. The next meeting is from 9:30 a.m. to noon Oct. 9 in McKay Hall with coffee, cookies, and games. Please call the church office to make your reservation for a table.

Plan a break from your Christmas shopping and bring your children to enjoy "A Little Christmas Kiss From Jesus" at 4 p.m. Dec. 18, followed by a pizza supper. The cost is $5 per family. Please let the church know you are coming by calling 855-1126 or emailing [email protected].

First Presbyterian Church in Bentonville, 901 N.E. J St., is offering new fall faith formation opportunities on Sundays: Sunday School for adults at 9 a.m., J Street Kids (K-third grades) and Club 456 (fourth-sixth grades) from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., and Youth Group (seventh-12th) from 4:30 to 6 p.m. Masking and distancing are practiced indoors, and children and youth activities are primarily outdoors.

Worship is at 10:15 a.m. on Sundays, with online worship through Facebook and YouTube, and in person worship with masks worn while in the church building.

First United Methodist Church in Bella Vista, 20 Boyce Drive, hosts its annual Holiday Bazaar from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. today. A variety of handcrafted items, "dignified discards," plants, homemade jams, jellies, soup and dessert mixes will be available. Proceeds go to support local charities.

Highland Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in Bella Vista, 1500 Forest Hills Blvd., is planning a Christmas program for Sunday morning, Dec. 12. Called "Olde Fashioned Christmas," it is a Christian based story set during the holidays.

The church holds services at 10:30 a.m. Sunday, and Sunday School starts at 9 a.m. in Fellowship Hall.

The Presbyterian Church of Bella Vista, 1880 Forest Hills Blvd., welcomes the Rev. Dr. Judith Irene McMillan as the new pastor. McMillan, who was ordained in the Arkansas Presbytery in 1998 and was campus minister at United Campus Ministry in Fayetteville, has also served congregations in Nebraska and Michigan. Congregants are invited to greet McMillan Oct. 3.

The church holds services Sundays at 10 a.m. Masks are strongly recommended. Childcare is available.

The Oasis Center (video venue) is for those preferring a mask-required setting. There is infant/toddler nursery available up to age 3.

Fayetteville Abrahamic Faiths Forum will sponsor a Zoom colloquium, "More Than Just Words: Praying Like You Mean It," at 7 p.m. Oct. 7.

Panelists are the Rev. Phil Butin, First United Presbyterian Church, Fayetteville; Imam Abdellah Essalki, Islamic Center of Northwest Arkansas, Fayetteville; Mehmet Ulupinar, Gülen Movement, Little Rock; and Rabbi Emeritus Jacob Adler, Temple Shalom, Fayetteville.

First Presbyterian Church in Springdale, 100 S. Gutensohn Road, offers Sunday services, both in-person and livestreamed, beginning at 10:30 a.m.
