A well-known Hot Springs barbecue joint is planning to expand to Rogers.

McClard's Bar-B-Q, established in 1928, will bring its tamales and smoked meats to 5001 W Pauline Whitake Pkwy, according to its website.

The restaurant hasn't announced an opening date, but will open in the spring of 2021, the site says.


A Chick-fil-A, a Starbucks and a steakhouse are all on the way in Springdale.

The construction of the Chick-fil-A at the intersection of West Sunset Avenue and Gene George Boulevard was approved Tuesday by the city Planning Commission.

The store will open in early 2022, according to a statement from the company.

Also, the All American Steakhouse and Sports Theater is planned for the former Western Sizzlin' restaurant farther east on West Sunset Avenue.

A Starbucks at 408 N. Thompson St., which will be drive-through only, was approved by planners about a month ago.

The restaurants join another 13 new and expanded restaurants announced for downtown Springdale.

New restaurants will include Bauhaus Beirgarten, a German beer house; Revival, featuring Southern cuisine; Con Quesos, which has a location in Fayetteville; and Street Lakwe Eulala, a Marshallese food truck, Jill Dabbs, executive director of the Downtown Springdale Alliance, said.


In Fayetteville, Mr. Taco Loco opened a new location in January.

The restaurant at 2227 W. Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd. opens at 10 a.m. every day, according to its website.

It offers specials on Tuesdays, including 99 cent tacos and $3 margaritas.

Apple Blossom Brewing Co. reopened its location at 1550 E. Zion Rd. in the northern part of the city last month.

The brewery, which closed last summer, has been sold to new owners and is under new management.

Lift Coffee Bar, which is based in Tahlequah, Okla., is planning to open an Uptown Fayetteville location this month, according to a social media post.

The coffeeshop will be located in the space formerly occupied by Puritan Coffee & Beer and Burton's Creamery as well as Conscious Coco.

It offers a variety of seasonal drinks as well as waffle sandwiches and other food.

Mojo's Pints & Pies is also planning to open a second location on the east side of town near Mission Boulevard, according to social media posts.

Nearby, a new drive-through coffeeshop is under construction.

Locals Drive Thru Coffee will be located 2626 E. Citizens Dr.
