Dangerous heat warning for River Valley, Northwest Arkansas

Dangerous heat conditions persist for Northwest Arkansas and the River Valley, according to the National Weather Service.

Hot and humid conditions with afternoon heat index values of 100 to 110 degrees continue today according to a report for the Weather Service. A heat advisory is in effect today for eastern Oklahoma and west central Arkansas.

Isolated thunderstorms are also possible this afternoon through the early evening, the release said.

Dangerous heat index values will continue this week into next weekend, the report said, with temperatures for mid to late week likely to reach the upper 90s to low 100s.
