FAYETTEVILLE — Four Arkansas baseball players have been selected to play in the all-star game for the California Collegiate League.

Pitchers Gabe Starks, Heston Tole and Miller Pleimann, and infielder Zack Gregory will participate in the CCL Showcase Game on Wednesday night in Compton, Calif. The game is scheduled to begin at 9 p.m. Central and will be televised in some markets by Bally Sports TV.

A pregame combine in front of MLB scouts will be available to game participants.

Gregory and Starks will play for the South Division, while Tole and Pleimann will play for the North. Gregory, who has played primarily in the outfield at Arkansas, is listed as a second baseman.

Gregory is batting .176 with 2 home runs and 5 RBI through 12 games for the Conejo Oaks, but like with the Razorbacks, he has shown a knack for getting on base. He has walked 14 times and has been hit 7 times by a pitch, and has an OPS of .844.

Starks has allowed 7 earned runs in 7 1/3 innings for the Santa Barbara Foresters. The right hander has 13 strikeouts and is 0-1 with 1 save.

Tole and Pleimann are teammates for the San Luis Obispo Blues. Pleimann has not allowed an earned run in 9 1/3 innings, and has 8 strikeouts and 4 walks.

Tole (1-2) has allowed 5 runs in 12 1/3 innings. He has struck out 15 and issued a walk twice.
