Jeremiah Anderson will be the new director of business attraction for the Little Rock Regional Chamber of Commerce, the economic development group announced in a Friday news release.

Anderson, a Chicago native, has worked in economic development in Fort Worth and Dallas, most recently as the manager of economic development for the Dallas Regional Chamber, according to the release.

In a statement, Anderson said he was "delighted to join the Little Rock Regional Chamber team and contribute to the growth of the region."

"This growing region has a great deal to offer companies seeking to expand their footprint, relocate or scale," Anderson said. "I look forward to leveraging my expertise to build on the successes of 2020 and bring more companies that create more jobs for the entire region."

In its release, the chamber said Anderson will join a "revamped" economic development team with chamber Executive Vice President James Reddish as the team's new senior leader.

CALS schedules

virtual service day

The Central Arkansas Library System will host a virtual day of service in recognition of Martin Luther King Jr. Day, beginning with a keynote address from Little Rock Mayor Frank Scott Jr. at 11:30 a.m. Monday.

The day's events also include a discussion session featuring artist and Arkansas native Nate Powell, the illustrator of "March," a graphic novel trilogy written by the late Rep. John Lewis of Georgia and Andrew Aydin.

At-large City Director Antwan Phillips will moderate the discussion, according to the system's event listing.

A public service panel later in the day will feature state Sen. Joyce Elliott, D-Little Rock;Little Rock's chief education officer, Jay Barth; and Kwami and Clarice Abdul-Bey of the Arkansas Peace and Justice Memorial Movement.
