Rock blasting to make room for new southbound Interstate 49 lanes is expected to result in traffic delays this week.
I-49 traffic is expected to be slowed and possibly stopped between McDonald County Routes EE and Brush Creek Road near Pineville, Mo. Delays are expected between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. Monday through Wednesday.
Law enforcement officers will be slowing and stopping north- and southbound I-49 traffic as needed.
Route EE and Route H traffic attempting to enter southbound I-49 will be stopped for up to 15 minutes while contractor crews blast rock.
Traffic attempting to enter northbound I-49 from U.S. Business 71 and Brush Creek Road will be stopped for up to 15 minutes while crews blast.
The work is part of the larger I-49 Missouri/Arkansas Connector project to complete the final five miles of I-49 between Pineville and the Missouri/Arkansas state line.
