Hunter Chenoweth, 22, of DeQueen was arrested Tuesday night after three people were killed and an infant was abducted at a Madison County house.

Sheriff’s deputies were called around 5 p.m. Tuesday to 3487 County Road 6041, southwest of Huntsville, according to a news release.

Tami Lynn Chenoweth, 51, James Stanley McGhee, 59, and Cheyene Chenoweth, 26, were found dead inside the home.

State police called to the scene identified two vehicles which had been at the house earlier that day.

During a statewide search for the vehicles, troopers found one abandoned along Interstate 40 near Mayflower in Faulkner County, according to the release. The truck was taken to state police headquarters.

Troopers identified and stopped the second vehicle at 10:10 p.m. as it was traveling westbound along Interstate 30 near Benton.

As police stopped the vehicle, Chenoweth came out of the van with a rifle and verbally provoked the troopers, according to the release. Police approached Chenoweth the gunman from behind and arrested him.

The driver of the van was a 25 year-old DeQueen woman.

The abducted infant was found inside the vehicle and unharmed. The child was released to the Department of Human Services.

Chenoweth is being held at the Saline County Detention Center as the investigation continues, according to the release.

The Madison County prosecuting attorney will determine charges associated with the homicides.
