Jackknifed semi brings Highway 340 to a halt in Bella Vista

BELLA VISTA -- A jackknifed semi truck on Sunday closed all lanes of Highway 340 for more than an hour.

The crash occurred at about 10:52 a.m. about one mile west of Highway 94, according to the Arkansas Department of transportation.

No other vehicles were involved, said Brandon Goodwin, dispatcher with the Bella Vista Police Department.

What caused the truck to jackknife is unknown at this time, he said.

A wrecker was used to clear the truck from the roadway at about noon, according to the Bella Vista Police department.

There were no injuries, Goodwin said.

The truck was hauling a large construction-style dump truck on a flatbed trailer when it crashed, he said.
