16-year-old held in Blytheville slaying

A 16-year-old boy is facing a capital murder charge in the death of a Blytheville man, police said.

Police were sent around 3:30 p.m. Thursday to an apartment in the 300 block of South Division Street after receiving a report of an unresponsive person, according to police.

Upon arrival, police found Bennie Mosley, 56, dead in the apartment. He had been assaulted, police said.

On Thursday evening, a 16-year-old male approached officers at the Blytheville Police Department and provided incriminating statements, according to a police news release.

Police reported that the teen was listed as a runaway from Jonesboro and was detained at the Mississippi County sheriff's office.

The teen is also facing a charge of aggravated robbery, police said. His bond was set at $250,000, according to police.
