A line of thunderstorms headed towards Northwest Arkansas today will bring a chance of damaging winds, large hail and tornadoes, forecasters say.

The system is expected to enter the region Friday evening, likely after 6 p.m., according to the National Weather Service.

Winds reaching 60 to 70 miles per hour are the primary threat during the storms. Hail the size of half dollars is also a concern.

The tornado potential is low, according to the service's website.

Storms are expected to move out of the area by 10 p.m.

A high temperature of 75 degrees and a low 44 is expected for Friday in Fayetteville. The high for Saturday is 62.
