LOWELL -- More than 1,000 doses of the Pfizer vaccine are ready for arms at the J.B. Hunt headquarters today.
The Northwest Arkansas Council has set up a walk-in clinic at Building C at 708 W. Apple Blossom Ave. As of this morning the council reported just more than 1,000 people registered for a shot, with another 1,000 still available.
Registration is preferred. People can sign up at nwacouncil.org/nwavaccines or by calling (479) 334-2929.
Walk-ins also will be accepted. The best times to show up are until noon and 2-4 p.m.
Everyone who receives their first dose of the Pfizer vaccine will be scheduled at the clinic to get a second dose. Anyone 16 and older is eligible.
Today's clinic is the second hosted this week by the council. On Wednesday, more than 2,500 doses were made available at the Northwest Arkansas Mall in Fayetteville.
The council has a plan to administer about 5,000 shots every week for 10 weeks.
