Tonight, the Walton Arts Center announced the six shows for its 2020/21 Broadway season.

On Monday night, March 16, via a Facebook live video, the Walton Arts Center in Fayetteville announced the coming 2020/21 Broadway series. The series is usually announced at a special event for Broadway Series subscribers, but due to the venue's event cancellations in response to coronavirus concerns, the announcement was made online.

The 2020/21 Broadway season begins Sept. 15 with "My Fair Lady." The show is the only returning show on the new series, but is a new adaptation put forth by The Lincoln Center Theater. This adaptation has never played the state of Arkansas, meaning every show on the coming season will be an Arkansas premiere.

The six-show season also includes

• "Mean Girls" -- Nov. 3-8

• "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory" -- Dec. 15-20

• "An Officer and a Gentleman" -- March 9-12, 2021

• "Come From Away" -- May 11-16, 2021

• "Freestyle Love Supreme" -- June 1-6, 2021

Six-show Broadway subscription packages range from $278 to $412 for Tuesday and Wednesday evening and Thursday matinees, and $312 to $474 for Thursday, Friday and Saturday evening, and Saturday and Sunday matinees. Subscription renewals are now available.

The Walton Arts Center also revealed one show that will be part of the 2021/22 season. "Hamilton" will take the stage in Fayetteville in early 2022. The venue shared the exciting news because those who subscribe to the 2020/21 season will have the first opportunity to purchase tickets for "Hamilton" if they choose to renew their subscription for the 2021/22 season.

Ticket information for individual shows will be available soon. Visit waltonartscenter.org or call the box office at 479-443-5600 for full details.
