Two Pine Bluff women were arrested in Jacksonville in a theft from a clothes retailer Tuesday afternoon according to Jacksonville Police arrest reports.

An officer responded to Hibbett Sports on 2070 John Harden Drive where employees told police two women stole several clothing items and left the store in a white Nissan Altima, the reports said.

The officer made a traffic stop on an Altima that fit the description driven by Alexus Smith, 24, with passenger Cynthia Brewer, 38, at the Chili's on 1800 W. Main St. and saw the merchandise stolen from the store from outside the vehicle, according to the reports.

A search found $1,210 of stolen Hibbett Sports merchandise, and Smith and Brewer were arrested, the reports said.

Both were taken to Pulaski County jail. Brewer is charged with felony robbery and Smith is charged with felony theft of property.

Jacksonville Police arrested a Cabot man on Tuesday in the theft of a mower and a recreational vehicle after executing a search warrant on the man's property, according to an arrest report.

Assisting Lonoke County deputies on 7623 John Harden Drive in Cabot at about 10 a.m., officers found a stolen Polaris Ranger UTV and a stolen Kubota mower side by side on the property of Jackie Veazey, 46, the report said.

Several boats were located with altered hull ID numbers as well, according to the report.

Veazey was arrested and taken to the Pulaski County jail where he is charged with two felony counts of theft by receiving and four felony counts of altering a manufacturer's serial number/VIN.

A Little Rock man was arrested in an attempted residential burglary early Tuesday, according to a Little Rock arrest report.

Police responded to an attempted breaking and entering call at about 3:50 a.m. near 2722 S. Chester St. and found Claude Finley, 54, at the back door of the residence with green gloves on and a crowbar and clamp nearby, the report said.

Finley, who the owner of the property did not know, was arrested and taken to the Pulaski County jail where he has no bail.

He is charged with felony criminal attempt of residential burglary.
