Haley's comment reflects growing incivility in U.S.

Nikki Haley was quoted in the news as stating, "It is only Democrats who are mourning Soleimani."

Ms. Haley will do well to remember that no matter how heinous the crimes a person has committed, it is inhumane to dance on anyone's grave.

What I mourn is the apparent loss of civility in our country, the disregard for the rule of law both domestically and internationally, and the lack of commitment by many Republicans in Congress and this administration to their oaths of office to protect and defend our Constitution.

People need to learn

truth about 1861 war

I agree the Confederate statue deserves a new place in history. First, however, the American public needs to know the true history of the Confederacy. Our educational system was hijacked by the Carnegie, Rockefeller and Ford Foundations between 1903 to 1905. They spent millions of dollars (billions in today's dollars) to take over the educational system within the USA. All three foundations were and continue to be a front for socialism. The present leaders of all three are recognized Marxists/socialists. If a person has not done his or her own research/investigation regarding our history, they have not been educated but deceived by our indoctrination centers called public schools. Here is a link regarding Rockefeller http://www.oldthinkernews.com/2008/07/01/the-reece-committee-social-science-as-a-tool-for-control/

I have always stated slavery is abhorrent and repugnant. However, slavery was not the cause of the Civil War, which more appropriately should be called the War of Northern Aggression. A person should have facts, not emotions, regarding history. As Mark Twain stated, "It is easier to fool someone than to convince someone they have been fooled." This is particularly true if they have spent 12 years or more in the public fool system.

Just to give a few facts about Lincoln. Lincoln was a very highly paid attorney in Springfield, Ill., not some backwoods log splitter as he was advertised. Lincoln did not give one campaign speech from the time he was nominated until he was elected president. Lincoln was not on any ballot in the Southern states. The first state Lincoln invaded was Maryland, not South Carolina. He had the governor, the entire Legislature and the mayor of Baltimore tossed in prison. He did away with habeas corpus -- "a writ requiring a person under arrest to be brought before a judge or into court, especially to secure the person's release unless lawful grounds are shown for their detention." Most spent the entire Civil War in prison without any sort of hearing or trial. Lincoln started the war without Senate approval, which is against our Constitution.

If a person wants to know more about the Civil War, go to Southern Heritage 411. Here is a Black person, H.K. Edgerton, former president of the Asheville, N.C., chapter of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People, telling a different story. As their literature states, you will find a "perspective of Southern heritage not taught in our public schools or seen in our politically correct media. Some of the facts will shock and surprise you."

True history should never be destroyed. It should be learned from. The statue should stay where it is with reverence.
