School news includes honor rolls and graduates from around the region

Harding University

Among the 66 students named to the College of Pharmacy Dean's List for fall 2019 at Harding University in Searcy were:

• Taylor Oates of Paris;

• Emily Richardson of Ozark;

• Alexa Robinette of Bentonville;

• And Amelia Whitkanack of Clarksville.

The Dean's List standing is reserved for full-time students with a 3.80 or higher grade point average.

USSYP

The United States Senate Youth Program (USSYP) has announced that high school students Muskaan Arshad, a junior at Bentonville West High School, and Hue Anh Cao, a senior at Bentonville High School, will join Sen. John Boozman and Sen. Tom Cotton in representing Arkansas in the nation's capital during the 58th annual USSYP Washington Week March 7-14.

The two were selected from among the state's top student leaders to be part of the 104 national student delegation who will also each receive a $10,000 college scholarship for undergraduate study.

Southern Arkansas University

Among 585 students earning a 3.5 GPA or higher for the fall 2019 semester, these local students earned recognition on the Dean's List at Southern Arkansas University in Magnolia.

• Tara Ross, freshman agricultural business major from Lamar;

• Joshua Jetton, freshman agricultural business major from Lincoln;

• Seth Horn, freshman agricultural education major from Springdale;

• Aaron Murphy, senior management major from Berryville;

• Logan Bradley, freshman computer technology major from Booneville;

• Emily Hunt, senior K-6 elementary education major from Waldron;

• Dustie Cummings, junior exercise science major from Fort Smith;

• Willow Waggoner, junior middle school education major from Harrison;

• John Orndorff, sophomore theater major from Gravette;

• Danielle Boyster, sophomore theater major from Siloam Springs;

• Simon Tursky, senior theater major from Van Buren;

• Michael Ryan, senior sports management major from Farmington;

• And Cooper King, senior sports management major from Harrison.

Among 374 students earning a 4.0 GPA for the fall 2019 semester and recognition on the Southern Arkansas University President's List were:

• Olivia Faught, senior sport management major from Alma;

• Joshua Winfield, senior mathematics major from Bentonville;

• Brittany Feimster, senior K-6 elementary education major from Booneville;

• Erin Burch, senior psychology major from Fayetteville;

• Breiana Percival, sophomore wildlife and conservation biology major from Greenwood;

• Lindsay Nichols, senior K-6 elementary education major from Harrison;

• Mara Nolan, senior accounting major from Rogers;

• Emily Terrell, junior political science majo rfrom Rogers;

• Kristopher Johnson, junior privacy and cyber security major from Siloam Springs;

Graceland University

Graduates from around the country and around the world were recognized for earning undergraduate and graduate degrees from Graceland University in a ceremony Dec. 14 in Independence, Mo., including:

• Kevin Wagner, Rogers, Master of Science in Nursing (Family Nurse Practitioner);

• Michaela Berndt of Centerton, Master of Science in Nursing (Family Nurse Practitioner);

• And Stephanie Gibson of Rogers, Master of Science in Nursing (Family Nurse Practitioner).

Among students named to the fall 2019 Honors List were:

• Jessie Fuller of Coal Hill;

• And Raegan Huffor of Mountainburg.

Students with a GPA between 3.65 and 3.99 are named to the Honors List.

Among students named to the fall 2019 Dean's List was Melinda Johns of Centerton. Graceland University students with a GPA between 3.25 and 3.64 are named to the Dean's List.

Clemson University

Among students graduating Dec. 29 from Clemson University in Clemson, S.C., were:

• Jackson Lanier Goodwin, Fort Smith, Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering;

• And Kristine Novero McCaslin, Barling, Master of Science in Biological Sciences.

Belmont University

Among students who achieved the Dean's List for the fall 2019 semester at Belmont University in Nashville, Tenn., were:

• Joseph Buchholz of Springdale;

• Andi Ellis of Rogers;

• Brenner Hicky of Fayetteville;

• Jamilyn Kinney of Alma;

• Michal Vasquez of Rogers;

• Madison Weston of Bentonville;

• And Harrison Williams of Rogers.

Eligibility is based on a minimum course load of 12 hours and a grade point average of 3.5 with no grade below a C.

McPherson College

Among students named to the Honor Roll for the fall 2019 semester at McPherson College in McPherson, Kan., were

• Alexandra Gipson, Harrison;

And Frances Parish, Rogers.

To qualify for the honor roll, students must be a full-time student and earn a grade point average of 3.55 or higher during the previous term.
