Earnings report

Companies reporting quarterly earnings Tuesday included :

Citigroup Inc., the New York bank, a profit of $4.98 billion, or $2.15 a share, from $4.3 billion, or $1.64 a share, a year ago. Revenue was $24.93 billion. Shares rose $1.26 to close Tuesday at $81.91.

Delta Air Lines, a profit of $1.1 billion, or $1.71 a share, from $1.02 billion, or $1.49 a share, a year ago. Revenue rose 6% to $11.44 billion. Shares rose $1.96 to close at $61.45.

JPMorgan Chase & Co., the New York bank, a profit of $8.52 billion, or $2.57 a share, up from $7.07 billion, or $1.98 a share, a year ago. Revenue rose 9% to $28.3 billion. Shares rose $1.60 to close at $138.80.

Wells Fargo & Co., the San Francisco bank, a profit of $2.87 billion, or 60 cents a share, from $6.6 billion, or $1.21 a share, a year ago. Revenue was $24.26 billion. Shares fell $2.81 to close at $49.30.
