City conducting burn in southeast Fayetteville

FAYETTEVILLE -- A prescribed burn will be conducted for two hours today in the southeast part of the city.

The burn was expected to begin midday near the southeast corner of Arkansas 16 and Dead Horse Mountain Road, according to a news release from the city.

A containment line has been set and the fire department is on standby, according to the release.

The property was purchased by the city and the Watershed Conservation Resource Center to conserve and restore the water quality of the Beaver Lake Watershed, according to the release.
