Small chance of minor snow accumulation tonight, forecasters say

Forecasters are once again broadcasting a slight possibility for snow in Northwest Arkansas.

Potential rain and cold air Wednesday night and Thursday morning could combine to bring light snow or a wintry mix to the region, according to the National Weather Service.

Higher terrain areas in the region are most likely to see accumulation overnight, which is expected to be less than half an inch of snow.

A low temperature of 33 is forecast for Wednesday night with a high of 41 in Fayetteville.

The chance of precipitation for early Thursday morning in the city was estimated at 22 percent by forecasters Wednesday morning, according to the service. Temperatures are expected to drop below freezing briefly around 7 a.m.

The area is not expected to receive precipitation late Thursday.
