Cancer
Viviendo con Cancer will meet from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Feb. 17 at Hope Cancer Resources, 5835 W. Sunset Ave. in Springdale. This is a monthly supportive and educational group for adult Hispanic patients, caregivers, families and friends coping with any type of cancer. All group communication will be in Spanish.

Pieces 'N Patches
The Pieces 'N Patches quilt group will meet at 12:30 p.m. Feb. 17 at First Presbyterian Church, 1901 S. 26th St. in Rogers, for a workshop led by Darlene Szabo of Sew Graceful Quilting. The group will be making pin cushions at 10 a.m. There is no need to bring a sewing machine, just hand stitching supplies.
The group meets at 12:30 p.m. on the first Monday of each month for programs and at 10 a.m. on the third Monday for workshops. Visitors are welcome.

Stitched
Stitched With Love will meet at 9:30 a.m. Feb. 18 at Mount Vernon Presbyterian Church, 1300 N. Davis St. in Pea Ridge. Bring completed quilts and batting scraps to stuff pillows and scissors to cut batting for new quilt kits. New members are welcome.
Stitched With Love is a nonprofit organization that meets on the third Tuesday of each month. It was formed for the purpose of sewing quilts, hats and pillows for children at Arkansas Children's Hospital.

Democrats
The Northwest Arkansas Senior Democrats will meet at noon Feb. 18 at Western Sizzlin in Springdale. Lunch begins at 11:30 a.m.
The guest speaker will be Michael Pierce from the University of Arkansas, who will discuss the Elaine Massacre. There will also be three judicial candidates for District Court 2. They are David Phillips, Mark Scalise and Terra Stephenson. Many other candidates will be in attendance.

DAR
The Fort Smith Daughters of the American Revolution will meet at 6 p.m. Feb. 18 in the Community Room of the Fort Smith Public Library on Rogers Avenue in Fort Smith.
Ed Wilkinson will be the guest, speaking to high school students who participated in the Good Citizenship Essay Contest and their families about the importance of being a good citizen. Certificates, pins and gift cards will be presented to these students.

The Northwest Arkansas Swing Dance Society invites you to celebrate leap day at a jitterbug dance in the University of Arkansas Union ballroom Feb. 20. An intro to swing lesson will be from 6 to 6:45 p.m. There is no partner or experience necessary. The social dance, with music by Northwest Arkansas Jazz and More Orchestra, will be from 7 to 10 p.m.

The Sons of Union Veterans of the Civil War will meet at 7 p.m. Feb. 20 at the Windsor Branch of the Fort Smith Public Library, 4701 Windsor Drive in Fort Smith. The Sons of Union Veterans is a fraternal organization dedicated to keeping in the public memory the men that fought for the United States during the Civil War. The meeting is open to all.

The Northwest Arkansas Chapter of the Mutual UFO Network will meet from 10 a.m. to noon Feb. 22 at the Terminal Building of Drake Field at 4500 S. School Ave. in Fayetteville.

Calico Cut Ups
The Calico Cut Ups will meet at 1 p.m. Feb. 24 at the First United Methodist Church, 20 Boyce Drive in Bella Vista. The program will be a guild members trunk show. Members Kay Gaudian, Bill Croft, Laurie Davis and Irene Foss will show some of the quilts they have made and share some history of each.
Before the meeting, from 9 a.m. to noon, there will be a jelly roll race quilt workshop in Becker Hall. There is no cost, but participants must bring a sewing machine, spools of thread, additional wound bobbins, scissors and your jelly roll. There is no charge for a guest for a first visit. The Calico Cut Ups do have a $5 guest fee for their meetings that helps defray program costs for a paid speaker. This fee is applied to membership if you choose to join the guild the same day you visit.

Radio Club
Little Switzerland Amateur Radio Club will meet at 2 p.m. March 14 in the day room at Mercy Hospital, 214 Carter St. in Berryville. The club meets on the second Saturday of each month.
The radio club also offers testing for technical, general or amateur extras at noon on the second Saturday of each month. Reservations are required at least seven days prior to testing, as is a current amateur radio license or FCC registration number. The test fee is $15.

Quilt Study
The Northwest Arkansas Quilt Study Group meets from 1 to 3 p.m. on the third Wednesday of each month from January to October at Legacy Village/Circle of Life, 1201 N.E. Legacy Parkway in Bentonville. The group focus is to study, learn and share the history of quilts and textiles of the past. They focus on preserving the history of quilts and quilt makers, past and present.
Activities include interviewing and documenting quilters about their lives and quilts, hosting quilt detective days, working with museums to identify, document and preserve their collections and hosting an annual Missouri, Oklahoma, Kansas and Arkansas quilt study.

Hope Cancer Resources offers support groups for cancer patients, caregivers and loved ones throughout the year at 5835 W. Sunset Ave. in Springdale. Groups are facilitated by licensed social workers and counselors. Cancer-specific groups, as well as Spanish-speaking meetings, are scheduled.
