Arkansas 37 closes over Black River

A section of Arkansas 37 straddling the Black River in Independence and Jackson counties has been closed because of high water, the Arkansas Department of Transportation said.

A 4.59-mile section between Cord and Tuckerman was closed Friday evening because of flooding on the Independence County side of the river, according to iDriveArkansas.com, a department website that tracks road conditions.

A recommended detour route uses Arkansas 17 south from Arkansas 37 to Arkansas 69 and to Batesville.
