The Symphony of Northwest Arkansas' first online benefit auction will end at 7:30 p.m. today. The auction may be accessed through sonamusic.org/silent-auction. Organizers say proceeds will support the 2020-21 Reimagined Season, the symphony's 66th year of "music-making and all of our new endeavors created to evolve and adapt to challenging times."

Auction items include trips, gift cards to area restaurants, boutique skincare and jewelry from Romance Diamond Co.

The Reimagined Season has included ""Virtually There: Sounds of a Moment with SoNA," broadcast online in November from the Momentary's Fermentation Hall, and an election day online release of the symphony's performance of "Fanfare for the Common Man" by Aaron Copland.

The "Solos From Home" series, featuring SoNA musicians performing from their homes, is "a chance for you to get to know us better," according to the orchestra's new executive director, D. Riley Nicholson. "You usually hear SoNA musicians in beautiful synchronicity on stage, but this is an opportunity to hear the individual personalities of our orchestra in a new way, as each musician will perform a short solo and provide insights on their musical choices."

A full-orchestra virtual concert is planned for release in the spring, which will feature a contemporary program native to the digital realm." The organization is working with composer Ray Lustig on his piece "Latency Canons," -- "a work that is meant expressly for the digital space and that uses the latency inherent in digital communication platforms for musical effects. Connecting with the current moment, "Latency Canons" takes the unintended and artfully reframes it into musical splendor."
