Firehouse burglary lands LR man in jail

A Little Rock man was arrested late Friday in the burglary of a fire station in Little Rock earlier that day, according to an arrest report.

Police confronted Orlando Jones, 32, at Asher Avenue and Valmar Street and asked him about damage done to a fire engine at Little Rock Station 7 at 4101 W. Markham St., the report said.

Jones told officers that he entered the truck and "discombobulated the wheel," according to the report.

He was taken to the Pulaski County jail, where he was charged with felony commercial burglary and felony criminal mischief.

2 face drug charges in NLR traffic stop

North Little Rock police arrested two people on drug charges after a traffic stop Saturday afternoon, according to an arrest report.

An officer pulled over a vehicle driven by Brooke Carter, 36, with passenger Jesse Blundell, 38, at 1:15 p.m. for improperly displaying a license plate and smelled marijuana coming from inside the car, the report said.

Police reported finding marijuana, heroin, methamphetamine and a pipe in the vehicle.

Carter and Blundell were taken to the Pulaski County jail, where they were being held without bail Saturday. Both are charged with felony possession of heroin with purpose, felony possession of methamphetamine with purpose and felony possession of drug paraphernalia.

Carter is also charged with misdemeanor possession of marijuana with purpose, and Blundell is charged with felony possession of marijuana with purpose and felony theft by receiving.

The police report did not elaborate on the theft charge.
