Scooter operator dies after crash on Fulbright Expressway

FAYETTEVILLE -- The operator of a scooter has died after a July 28 accident in which she was hit by a vehicle on the Fulbright Expressway while she was driving "unlawfully" on a controlled access highway, according to the Arkansas State Police accident report.

The operator was a minor and not identified. The report indicated the 2018 Wolf Scooter was westbound when it was hit by a 2004 Kia also westbound on the expressway at 9:43 p.m. July 28.

The scooter had no tail lamp visible and the driver of the Kia, who was also not identified, didn't see the scooter before hitting it, according to the report.

The operator was taken to Arkansas Children's Hospital in Little Rock where she later died, according to the report.
