Jennifer Pokrandt, executive director of Mew Cat Rescue in Bentonville, examines a newly delivered kitten Monday before transporting it for adoption. Multiple animal welfare organizations met at Springdale Animal Services to help load a van of 26 dogs and cats to rescue groups that have the capacity to take them in Omaha, Neb. Alexis Harper with Taysia Blue Rescue worked with The Artemis Project out of Fort Smith and Springdale Animal Services to help arrange transport of the animals. Best Friends in Northwest Arkansas supplied a driver and crates. Other organizations involved included Big Paws of the Ozarks and Spay Arkansas.
