Where I live: I live with my wife, Sally, and our cantankerous cat in a patio home off Katillus Road in west Little Rock.

Occupation: I am retired from real estate property management, but remain active as a choir director at Gardner Memorial United Methodist Church in North Little Rock where I have served for 32 years.

My favorite space: The sun-room at the back of the house.

Why: When we had our house built, we had the plan altered to enclose the back porch, with heat and air and lots of windows. I love tending all the green plants, and it is a wonderful spot to watch the birds as we enjoy drinking coffee and the morning Democrat-Gazette. The cat also enjoys her window perch from where she can dream of chasing the squirrels and chipmunks that come to visit frequently. There is also a treadmill, weights and a small television for morning exercise with the news.

If I could make one change to improve this space, I would: Unaccumulate. (My wife would call it “declutter.” Part of the room is sort of out of sight, and tends to gather stuff.) I also intend to continue to develop the backyard, patio and garden bed.
