CONWAY -- The University of Central Arkansas will review its disciplinary process because of an Arkansas Supreme Court decision issued Monday, UCA President Winfred Thompson said. The Supreme Court, with one justice dissenting, upheld Circuit Chancery Judge Watson Villines' decision that overturned a student's three-year school suspension for having a gun on campus. A majority ruled that UCA failed to follow its own procedures in disciplining the student. Heather Denton, a freshman scholarship student, contended she didn't know the gun was in her car when Conway police officer Mike Edgmon stopped her just inside the campus in February 1993.
