FAYETTEVILLE -- A Springdale man was sentenced to 10 years in federal prison Friday for drug dealing.

Enrique Ramirez, 27, was also sentenced to three years of supervised release to follow his prison term and ordered to pay $2,300 in fines for possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine and being a felon in possession of a firearm.

Ramirez was arrested in February on an unrelated warrant by Springdale police, according to court documents. Officers located several baggies of suspected methamphetamine and a firearm that was in Ramirez's waistband, during the arrest.

A federal grand jury indicted Ramirez in March, and he entered a guilty plea in May.

U.S. District Judge Timothy L. Brooks presided over the sentencing.
