Pet of the Week

Charlie is practicing to be a dog of leisure. He is a charmer, and very social with people and other dogs. He's also smart and loves to go on adventures. He would be perfect for social outings, hiking or dog parks. Charlie needs to put on some weight and then he will be a stunner. He will make a great addition to almost any home or lifestyle. Charlie is a shepherd mix. He's about 2 years old and weighs 45 pounds. Charlie also has a glorious tail. It's long, fluffy and fans out when he walks. Charlie is vaccinated, neutered and microchipped. His adoption fee is $250.

Canine Close-Up

Kiser stands out for his charm, personality, spirit, sweetness, but not necessarily for his boyish figure. Kiser arrived weighing a stout 103 pounds. He's on a diet, and he's been pretty good about it. He's a shepherd mix estimated to be 8 years old or younger. He has developed some joint issues in part because of his age, but primarily because of his weight. With a nutritious, well-proportioned diet and a little exercise he should be fine. He also might have some slight vision problems. He startles easily if he's not aware something is coming at him. He needs to be in a home with no other dogs or small children. Kiser is neutered, vaccinated and microchipped. His adoption fee is $200.

Kiser and friends can be adopted through Central Arkansas Rescue Effort for Animals (CARE). More information is available at (501) 603-2273 and careforanimals.org.
