SOUTHERN NAZARENE 6

Richard Stammetti threw three touchdown passes -- all in the first half -- and the Reddies won their home opener.

Henderson State (2-0, 2-0 Great American Conference) rolled up 516 yards of total offense while limiting Southern Nazarene (0-2, 0-2) to 49 passing yards at Carpenter-Haygood Stadium in Arkadelphia.

Henderson led 27-6 at the half after falling behind 6-0 nine minutes into the game.

L'Liott Curry caught a game-high 12 passes for 103 yards. He hauled in scoring passes from Stammetti of 12 and 9 yards.

Stammetti threw for 396 yards, completing 34 of 44. He was intercepted twice in the second half.

The Reddies took the lead for good with 9:44 left in the first half when Querale Hall ran in from the 3 to cap a seven-play, 80-yard drive.

Henderson State added two more touchdowns in the final 4:38 of the first half. Curry's 9-yard TD grab finished off a six-play, 80-yard drive. With 1:21 left in the half, tight end Preston Jefferis caught a 33-yard touchdown pass.

The only scoring of the second half came on a 3-yard run with 3:02 left in the game by Darius Austin, who led the Reddies on the ground with 41 yards on five carries.

Nate Walker's 65-yard touchdown run gave the Crimson Storm a 6-0 lead with 6:56 left in the first quarter.

OUACHITA BAPTIST 42,

ARKANSAS TECH 13

Brayden Brazeal threw for three touchdowns and the Tigers' running game accounted for three more scores as Ouachita Baptist won on the road at Buerkle Field in Russellville.

Brockton Brown, who rushed nine times for a game-high 85 yards, scored on runs of 54 and 2 yards.

Arkansas Tech (0-2, 0-2 GAC) had closed to within 14-10 with 6:42 left in the first half when Manny Harris connected with Drew Wade for a 54-yard TD pass, but OBU (2-0) answered two plays later. Brazeal hit Tucker Swoboda for a 45-yard touchdown to put the Tigers up 21-10 with 5:54 left in the half.

Arkansas Tech managed six first downs and 92 total yards in a scoreless second half.

Brazeal was 12 of 15 for 227 yards. Allie Freeman caught a team-high seven passes for 84 yards, including a 14-yard scoring pass with 13:43 left in the first half.

Hunter Swoboda caught a 75-yard TD pass from Brazeal in the third quarter. Shun'cee Thomas (19 carries, 72 yards) capped the scoring with a 1-yard run with 7:25 to play.

Jesus Zizumbo kicked field goals of 34 and 45 yards for Arkansas Tech.

SOUTHERN ARKANSAS 30,

OKLAHOMA BAPTIST 28

Sophomore Austin Wilkerson drilled a 48-yard field goal on the game's final play to give the Muleriders (2-0, 2-0 GAC) a victory over the Bison in Magnolia.

Oklahoma Baptist (0-2, 0-2) had rallied from a 27-14 deficit to take a lead with 1:34 to play. Preston Haire completed a 3-yard touchdown pass to Joshua Cornell and Luke Wendl added the extra point to give the Bison a 28-27 lead.

On the following drive, Oklahoma Baptist's Myles Russell intercepted Hayden Mallory's pass with 51 seconds to play, but the Bison were forced to punt after SAU used all three of its timeouts.

Starting from the Muleriders' 13 with 31 seconds left, Mallory hit Dennis Daniels for a 20-yard gain and O.B. Jones for a 15-yard completion to SAU 48.

Oklahoma Baptist was called for a face-mask penalty, and Mallory completed a 6-yard pass to SirCharles Perkins, who ran out of bounds at the 31 with four seconds left.

After a Bison timeout, Wilkerson kicked the game-winner.

Mallory was 22 of 33 for 350 yards and 2 TDs. Jared Lancaster caught a team-high seven passes for 131 yards and touchdown. Micah Small caught four passes for 83 yards and a touchdown.

Kor'Davion Washington led the Muleriders in rushing, gaining 80 yards on 12 attempts, including a 2-yard TD run with 10:42 remaining.
